Flylab and Sanyo Trading Asia Formalize LOI for Exclusive Insect-Based Feed Collaboration

Flylab, in collaboration with its cherished partner and investor, Sanyo Trading Asia, is proud to unveil a momentous milestone in the journey towards revolutionizing the insect-based feed industry.

Sanyo Trading Asia, a subsidiary of the renowned Sanyo Trading Co., Ltd. in Japan, and Flylab have enjoyed the privilege of collaborating for over a year. This fruitful collaboration has now culminated in the formalization of a Letter of Intent (LOI) between the two entities, marking a significant turning point in their partnership.

Sanyo Trading Asia, a prominent player in the fields of rubber, chemicals, and life science materials, is now joining forces with Flylab in an exclusive partnership dedicated to delivering consistent, top-tier insect-based feed ingredients. This exciting collaboration signifies a strong commitment to innovation and sustainable practices in the agri-tech industry.

Highlights of this LOI encompass ongoing negotiations aimed at securing a transformative 6,000 Metric Tonnes (MT) supply contract for Flylab’s signature product, FLMeal, over the next three years. This substantial agreement sets the stage for a new era of insect-based feed production, promising sustainable and high-quality solutions to meet the growing demands of the industry.

To bolster this transformative venture, their combined efforts are aligned to establish a state-of-the-art factory, slated to be fully operational by the second quarter of 2024. This cutting-edge facility will be the epicenter of operations, showcasing dedication to excellence and technological advancement in insect-based feed production.

The new factory will play a pivotal role in achieving the ambitious goal of producing 6,000 MT of Black Soldier Fly Larvae (BSFL) ingredients (meal and oil) annually. This signifies a substantial leap towards sustainability and a brighter, greener future.

Flylab and Sanyo Trading Asia are confident that this strategic alliance will pave the way for a significant global shift towards sustainable, insect-based feed production. The collaboration will also create a strong foundation for advancements in research and development, innovations in technology, and a commitment to excellence in operations management. Together, the two companies will set a high standard for the agri-tech industry, leading the way toward a more sustainable and environmentally friendly future.
